Gingerbread Men Cookies With A Twist...

I love gingerbread man cookies and I love chocolate. So why not combine the two?!

2 1/2 C-Flour
1/2 C-Softened butter
1/2 C-Sugar
1/2 C-Molasses
1 tsp-Baking soda
1 tsp-Ground ginger
1/2 tsp-Ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp-Ground cloves

Chocolate Sauce
1 Tbsp-Shortening
2/3 C-Semi sweet chocolate morsels

In large bowl beat butter, molasses, egg and sugar. Add baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves. Slowly add flour. Mix thoroughly. Divide dough in half, cover and chill for 3 hours.

Grease cookie sheet. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8" thickness. Cut with gingerbread man cookie cutter. Bake at 375° for 5-6 mintutes or until edges are firm. Cool completely.

In small saucepan heat chocolate and shortening. I like to dip my men feet first up to their waist. It looks like they're wearin' pants! Place on wax paper to set.

Ya prefer white chocolate? That's an easy fix! Just replace the chocolate morsels with white chocolate.
