Chipmunks Can't Be Trusted...

I gave Steve the Chipmunk the benefit of the doubt and planted a bunch of my sunflower plantlets. I assumed he wouldn't bother with them since they had already sprouted. I should have known somethin' was up when I saw him in a trench coat with sunglasses and holdin' that wee chipmunk spade.
Steve is now on my sh*t list.

Now Clarice on the other hand is a sweetheart! And she's my lil' buddy too.

She comes by almost every day for "dinner." It's been about 3 years now.

I really try not to let the wildlife get used to us, but she'll come as close as a foot away from me. She must trust me.
The other mornin' hubs opened the back door and there she was. He yells, "Your buddy is here to see you!" So I went outside to talk to her.

Gettin' back to Steve the Chipmunk... He has absolutely no fear of us!
It's just a matter of time before I see him in the kitchen pourin' himself a cup of coffee.

Remember to enjoy nature.

That's a funny post Karin! Your bunny has done well to avoid the foxes all this time.

Next time you see Steve tell him his evil cousin, Mr.Munk, says hi from Ohio. I picked up a bag of blood meal from the home center store and sprinkled it around the plants I'd kinda like see bloom this season. It seems to be working at keeping him away from them.
