Counting Down...

Photobucket

I remember back in my glory days getting all gussied up to head out for a fun night on New Year's Eve. A sparkly dress, big hair and high heels.
Now it's sweat pants, pillow head and big wool socks. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll be able to keep my peepers open 'til midnight. Heck, the time I now get all drowsy is about the time I used to head out! My how times change.

Man 2011 flew by, didn't it? They say the older you get the faster the time goes by. I can vouch for that.

I've never been one to say "good riddance" to any year no matter how bad it was. Every day the good Lord above allows me to wake up, is always a good day no matter what. I am grateful and happy.

I'm also not one for New Year's resolutions. Too much pressure. But I have decided to make some changes in my life. Like simplifying more and getting even more back to basics.

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak." Hans Hofman
That's good advice.

Happy New Year, Folks!! I look forward to 2012 with more creating, more stories and antics from Steve the Chipmunk and life at the Countryfolk Homestead with my sweet hubs and furbabies!! I hope you'll stop by often and enjoy them with me.

God bless and I'll see ya next year!! **wink**wink**
(Ah man, that joke never gets old!)

I'm with you. We will probably stay home and continue the tradition of saying a prayer of gratitude at midnight. We might have to take a nap to stay up that late, but that's ok, too. Thumbs up to simplifying life. I have been neglectful of some parts of my everyday life this year and I also am going to rectify this. Here's wishing you and hubby and Steve and Stan (AND your indoor fur babies) a great time and we'll see you next year! (yeah, I think it's funny, too)

well, I have to admit... I miss you already on Facebook, but I do understand the need to step back and reassess where you are and where you want to be.
I'm thankful for your friendship and love - and look forward to 2012 with you!

Happy New Year, to my friend and my sister ♥
