All this time I thought Bob the Woodchuck...

lived under our old brooder house. Apparently "Bob" is really "Bobbie" because I caught her two lil' young'uns having a picnic inside my rustic barn wood flower box. They were chowing down on my lovely petunias I planted last week.

Chewed 'em down to nubs. The only thing missing was the red and white check tablecloth.
Who knew woodchucks could climb???

As soon as they saw me walk towards them, they each did a swan dive right into the hole in the ground below. (Very similar to a Bugs Bunny move I saw once, minus the orchestrated music.)

Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. But one had an iPhone on him. I'm pretty sure he snapped a pic of my reaction to what they had done. Which is probably why I heard faint giggling as I walked back to the house.

First chipmunks bandits, now the furry Doublemint Twins. Tomorrow, a deer will probably hit me with a paint ball.

Enjoy nature.

Hah!! You sure do know how to tell a story.... sooooo funny!!! Although I'm sure you aren't laughing too hard at the feast those woodchucks just had.... I've had one (some) living under our deck..... ate everything. And not to mention it would scare the bejeepers out of me every now and again, too, when he'd dart out from the flower patch.... No, wait.... woodchucks don't dart.... it's more like they amble/wobble? But he'd scare me good. I think I may have heard some slight giggling, too.....
Enjoy your day tomorrow.... a hot one here in NY is in the forecast.... Happy Memorial Day!

Oh man Penny, I have to say I was soooo ticked at first!! But then I sat on the ground and laughed!! Heck, I can't get mad at them. They are just living their little woodchuck lives.

Gina, I'm finding slugs all over the place too! Ewwwww!!!

Enjoy your Memorial Day ladies!!

You may want to remind the pesky critters that they are supposed to be chucking wood, not petunias. Humph!

Sounds like something out of a story book. You're too crazy. Happy Memorial Day. Were they waving little flags?
