If all else fails, make do with what you have.

Whether it was 200+ years ago or the present, that expression holds true.

Yesterday I spent a good portion of the day searching the internet for the perfect daybed set. Unfortunately, there is no such thing. Unless of course you count the set I found for $495.00.
Ummmm. I don't think so.

Thankfully, I've always been an old soul at heart. Even when I was young. Back in the 80's when everyone was furnishing their homes with mauve and gray or peach and blue; for my bedroom, I went with the basics like ercu. Although my nose would grow like Pinocchio if I didn't fess up to the fact that I had mauve carpeting in my first apartment, by choice.
Shhhh.... but no one has to know that.

Since I am my mother's daughter, I save everything. That includes pretty croqueted bedding I bought at either Spiegel's or JC Penney's back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Since it's not made for a daybed, I had to do a little pinning and tucking.

But I think it looks pretty darn good.

I will continue to search for the
almost perfect daybed set. But until then, it suits me and this old farmhouse just fine.

Happy Thursday!!

Looks wondeful!
My mom had that exact bedspread and shams on her bed at one time.
Hey don't hate the mauve and blue!!
LoL!
I had a house full of it in the early 1990s :)
Not to mention ruffles and lace.
Hard to imagine now but I had a pastel obbsssion at one time.
Any who, enough about Me!
Love how the bed turned out.
Beautiful space.

It looks beautiful. Beautiful in a way that is just asking for little teeth and claws to mangle it. Maybe not. You think it will last until we get there? See you soon. Hugs.

Thanks, Gals.
((giggle)) Tam, I had mauve carpeting and gray furniture! I also had shiny brass fixtures.(Ooooh!) But I didn't have the white ducks. (My friend did though) :> )
Tina, that's exactly what I was thinking when I got it put together. Except I have the attention span of a flea, so I'll stick with reading a magazine. ;> )
Peachy, heck I'm way ahead of you, sister. I put down a blanket before anyone with four legs gets up on it.

Very nice! Simple...if it ain't broke, don't spend a fortune fixin' it! Way to go.
Put Stella and Gracie in another room!!
At least they won't be tempted that way!
