I don't suppose it's possible to find these at yard sales or auctions? They might be more affordable that way.

Ali xAlisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00988920560392606218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8084047548601162596.post-34559573315466336062012-01-21T20:54:45.841-05:002012-01-21T20:54:45.841-05:00Yes, windsor chairs are up there in price. I have ...Yes, windsor chairs are up there in price. I have some Eldred Wheeler windsor chairs with the saddle seats.
I love them. I bought them at least
17 years ago. Can you imagine what they cost now? Check out Eldred Wheeler. You'll love their furniture.
At a point in the future, Mr. Glen Oaks will be making windsor chairs.
He needs the steam box for making the bow, an in shave to hollow out the chair to make the seats, a lathe to turn the legs, spoon bits
for drilling the holes for the spokes and the legs, a big brace,
and reamers, chair devils, spoke shaves. And, a chair maker's bench! See why they cost so much? He has a complete workshop
to make everything else, he's slowly adding these tools for the chair making. You wouldn't think that one chair requires all of those things. To make them like the original antiques I guess you do.
Hugs,
SusanSusan At Glen Oaks Primitiveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03619649654030199570noreply@blogger.com
