I Knew It Was Only A Matter Of Time...

I noticed my latest dollie I've been workin' was missin' AND so were the keys to our old pickup truck.
I put 2 and 2 together and made a beeline out the door.

Sure enough...

Gasp!

Autumn's Glow...

There is something about autumn
That brings out such earthiness
Gold leaves adorn bushes and trees
Like an artist with a brilliant brush.

Once the leaves dry on the trees
Then the wind begins to blow
It’s a special time of year for me
Because I love autumn so.

The cold dry air it seems
Prepare the leaves to fall
Mother Nature’s special time
Yes, it’s the best of all.

What a dazzling way to end
The year as winter nears
The way leaves let loose
And drop like nature’s tears.

Oh yes, I love those golden days
Dreamy with autumn’s glow
It makes me smile because I do

Touched By An Angel...

I was beyond thrilled when a box from my dear friend Audrey of Bay Ray's Child Primitives was on my front porch yesterday!

I saw this lil' bundle of sweetness on her sellin' blog and knew she had to come live with me!

(Bald dollies are my absolute favorite!)

Folks, not only are her creations wonderfully whimsical and full of character; they are beautifully made too! I've got quite a few of her dollies around the ol' Countryfolk homestead.

Speakin' of homesteads, you must check out her fabulous home! It's to die for!
Heck, I'm tempted to hop in a basket and leave myself on her front doorstep.

It's Time...

Poor Hannah...

Yesterday we were all outside playin', when she stepped on a bee.

I was able to pull out the stinger and gave her a partial Children's Benadryl to take the edge off.

But man oh man, she was quite the drama queen and carried on ALL afternoon limpin' and draggin' herself all over the house. She should have her own reality show.

She had me fooled up until I got her dinner ready. When she heard the dogfood hit her dish she ran faster than Michael Johnson did in the '94 Olympics. The only thing she was missin' were those lil' gold shoes.

She's just fine and is (as you can see) restin' comfortably.

An Awesome Autumn Swap...

Some of us in the group To Dwell In Primitive Thymes participated in our annual swap.

I was lucky enough to get my very dear friend and favorite Goober, Cookie of Curds-and-Whey for a swap partner.

As you can see, I hit the jackpot!!! Her thoughtfulness shined through with every item too! Right down to that adorable peanut card! (For some of you folks who don't know, Peanut is my nickname.)

Also, yesterday I "celebrated" another year of bein' on this planet.
So we celebrated my "29th" birthday! Again.
Yes, I live in my own lil' world but it's okay, they know me here.

As always, my dear sweet hubs made my birthday cake. It's was Duncan Hines and it was delicious!!! Look how sweet!!!

He calls me "Chickie", so he put that lil' chick on there.

Sorry ladies, he's all mine!!!!
(I won him in a thumb wrestlin' contest.)

YaY!! It's Officially The First day Of Autumn...

So c'mon, I'll take ya for a bike ride.

Now for us leaf peepers here in Central New York, it's still a lil' early to do any peepin', but there are subtle signs.

It's also time for the black walnuts to drop all over the trail.

They are so friendly too...
