I have seen the national news footage about these people. For a group who claims to be Christian, they sure do hate everybody. Its almost comical, like a churchful of Archie Bunkers. Now I know they are a radical group and most Baptist-folk are not like this. All religions have their radicals, includin' my own. It is shameful.
Sounds like these folks just like all the attention they get. You know the ol' sayin', negative attention is better than no attention at all. Or maybe its a pathetic way for them to travel around and see this great country of ours and use the church's tax exemption status to write off all their travelin' expenses. Who knows?
I think the good Lord above is snappin' photos of these folks holdin' their signs of hatred. So when judgment day arrives, He'll hit the review button and show them the images of what they did here on earth. I can bet they'll be doin' a lot of back peddlin' and tap dancin' to get out of that one. But He knows the truth; He always does. Have they forgotten there is only ONE Judge? They may be shocked to find where they will be spendin' all eternity.
I don't want to hear they have the "right" to protest. I have the right to say and do many things; but I try to live my life as morally right as I can. "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Luke 6:31.
Many hide behind the First Amendment to get away with these kinds of acts. The bottom line is I don't give a hoot what side of the war y'all are on. A mother and father are buryin' their child and we should have the decency and respect to let them mourn in peace.
I do know our small country town (myself and hubs included) will rally together to make sure this group behaves themselves.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be there to help too.
I have seen this group in action... they make ME ashamed for them, because they certainly have no heart or conscience. This type of mentality has to be brainwashed into young minds so they never question the motive as they get older.
ReplyDeleteAs a believer in Jesus Christ, I am ashamed of Fred Phelps and company - they only kill the cause of Christ.
I hope your town is successful standing FIRM, Goob... they are a determined lot!
Thank God for you Karin, expressin Montgomery and Gentrys hit song..."THIS IS MY TOWN"
ReplyDeleteI will keep your townfolk, and Johns family and friends in vigil prayer.
Its so sad when ignorance breeds such hate.
Im with you, judgement days a comin...
If ya dont stand for somethin...youll fall for anything. Im sure glad Im standin right beside you.
Prayers of peace, and strength, for this grief stricken family for losin their son. Our Nations hero. Kat
This group makes me ill....the evil they spew is absolutely nauseating...I know in my heart they will face their judgement day someday, but wow...I wish there was something that could be done to stop them!! May God place His hands over the ears of the family of friends in mourning that they not be hurt further!!

My heart goes out to this brave soldiers family. I read an article about a young soldier's father who won a lawsuit against this hater for what he did at his own sons funeral. I was hoping a hit in his bank account would make him think twice...guess not. May your town wrap their loving arms around this family. God bless, Kathy
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting this! We all too often sit back -- disgusted, yes -- but never say or do anything about it. We somehow feel if we stand up to them, we are as bad as they are. And so they get away with this. I am a Christian, but my Bible teaches me to treat everyone with love, just as Christ did. And I am to lay down my life, if necessary, to win even the least of His children. I don't think these radical "Christians" will EVER win even ONE soul into the family of God! Cora
ReplyDeleteAmen. Well said Sister
