Lately, he's been joggin' the towpath as I pedal my mountain bike along side of him. But bein' hunched over has taken its toll on my neck. I have been in some pain due to an old football injury.
Not really, its a neck injury from when I was hit by a car when I was in my early 20's. (I thought a football injury sounded cooler.)
I asked him if there was some way I could have higher handle bars to take some of the pressure off my neck and shoulders since the ones in the bike stores aren't high enough.
His response was, "So you want to ride like Mary Poppins?"
"Yep, I sure do. Minus the umbrella." was my response.
So he whisked my bike into his shop and a few hours later came out with my new ride.
Julie Andrews... eat your heart out baby!
Um-diddle-diddle-um-diddleye!

LOL ...I can so relate..I broke my back over 14 years ago, and still have pain every day...I had a mountain bike, but it killed my back, so I made him trade it in for one with upright handle bars, LOL, Mine is a Mongoose as well, and I LOVE it, LOL..Mary Poppins LOL too funny!!
ReplyDeleteLovin' the Mary Poppins bike but I'm looking for the ET bike. You know the one with the basket with a wrinkled little dude sitting in it that flys. That's my kind of cycling girl! Something that will do all the work for me. LOL! Blessings, Cathy
ReplyDeleteso you go my Mary Poppins now..Nice ride sister..he is a great guy and now you are one hot chick...:)
ReplyDeletecue music...It's so nice to have a man around the house... Hmmm, I guess I'm not politically correct with that. But anyway, what a great fix. Reminds me of those bikes with banana seats that my brother used to ride. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteRad Ride; I personally think an umbrella would've been supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
ReplyDeletePeanut,
ReplyDeleteAnd where is the basket ??? You just gotta have a basket on your bike ! LOL...
Lucky you ! to have such a sweet hubby !
Happy Memorial Day , dear Peanut !
May your day be pleasant and sunny!
Hugs,
Linda P.S. you have me building walls now out of stone.. so far, I have pinched my finger, and rolled a stone on my toes.. :o)
Ain't love grand! Great refit on your bike. The only other adjustment I'd need is a seat that's kinder to my middle-aged bum!
