Is Nothin' Sacred Anymore...

My hubs mentioned to me yesterday his buddy's (from work) sweet wife was sellin' those World's Finest Chocolate Candy Bars. My eyes lit up like a pinball machine when he told me he ordered six of 'em.

Oooooh! I remember sellin' them as a young'un to raise money for class trips. They were a h-u-g-e, thick, doubled rowed candy bar with almonds the size of Buicks in every bite! They went for 50 cents. I can even picture the box with the lil' handle I toted them around in!

My mouth watered all day with anticipation!!

He walks through the door, hands me the bag. I ripped into it like a monkey on a cupcake only to find this.
What the???!!!

Is this some kind of cruel candy bar joke?! My old ruler is thicker than this thing.

Where the heck is the gigantic double rowed bar with almonds the size of Buicks?! For the record, I can tell ya they aren't in there. Only lil' pieces of almonds. Pffft!

I don't get it? In a society where we overindulge and supersize everythin', the "food police" decide to crack down on the lone chocolate bar that's sold once a year in schools?
It's true... Nothin' is sacred anymore.

P.S.
If they ever stop makin' Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum I can tell ya right now, it ain't gonna be pretty.

  1. Holy Mother of all chocolate bars !!!!! Wow they sure have shrunk ! I remember selling those too....and they were chocked full of almonds or whatever nuts they had in 'em. You could barely take a bite without gettin' a nut or at least half of one in every delicious chocolate heaven bite ya took ! I'm chocoshocked ! Quick someone get the choco Police this is an unjustice to the chocolate lovers everywhere !

  4. LOL at you, Peanut. I remember selling those for chorus back in 5th and 6th and 7th grade. My siblings would get into the box and eat them when I wasn't looking. That candy bar in no way resembles what we sold back then. You had to have some muscle to tote those boxes of candy bars around back in the day. ;-)

  5. Unfortunately it's getting to be all too common these days. Price goes up, quality goes down.

Well, the gov't. is watching our diets now, so of course it is downsized ! :o(

Pssst.... sh... did you turn it around to the back of the wrapper to see where it was made ?

Ya all know where most candy is made now...

We need border patrols just for our food !
