As we cut and hauled massive rotted barn beams and dragged gigantic stones, I couldn't help but think about the men who built it all by hand. No farm equipment, just men and horsepower. Man, I have the utmost respect for them!!
It also puts into perspective how easy our lives have become. I will never complain about havin' to get gas for the chain saw ever again.
It doesn't look like much, but believe me my achin' muscles would beg to differ with you!
It's been rainin' for days so clean up is put on hold for now. But I will continue to post photos. In the meantime, I'll stock up on Advil and Bengay.
:> )
This is such a project. I agree, you can't help but stop and think of the work that went into it originally. You are one ambitious gal, to be sure. This will be a great way to work off all those chocolate bunnies!
ReplyDeleteOh Peanut,
ReplyDeleteI can relate! We probably could get a duet going...oh my aching back!
I don't know if I'll ever get out of the yard as it was in pretty bad shape when I arrived.
Anyway, take a break sister you deserve it.
I sure wish I had some of those stones =)
Hugs, Audrey
