Darla Update:

First, let me say "Thank You" to everyone who posted and sent emails of thoughts and prayers for her. You have no idea how much it means to me.

It's been 48 hours and Darla has been seizure free. Thank the Lord!

Yesterday, we were devastated because she wasn't recognizing my hubs. She kept running away from him. He felt absolutely horrible but tried not to show it. I felt so bad. :> (
She was a little unsure of Gracie too. Kept sniffing her butt.

But today, she's been teasing her sister with a toy while barking an inch away from her face (her favorite thing to do) and when hubs came home from work she went running to the door to greet him. All good signs. :> )

I'm slowly introducing the new food, which she is thoroughly enjoying. Although I am cutting back on her portion size to make sure it doesn't send her into another seizure. I'll add a little more tomorrow. Also, this home cooked food is very rich so I don't want "fireworks" coming out of her rear.

So for now, she is stable. Me not so much, but I'm working on it. ;> )

Thanks again for your comforting comments and please keep praying for my furbaby.

Darla sends her love.

  5. Thanks you guys. ♥
Seizure free, 3 days and counting.

She still looks so frail though. This new diet is extremely healthy but low in calories. So I need to feed her more. But don't want to put stress on her liver with a lot of food at once. :> (

Also I called the vets office to ask why those supplements were so expensive when they were less than half the price online. Well they accidentally charged me for 75 tabs instead of 30! So they are going to reimburse me. They apologized but jeepers!

    Always check your bill.

  6. So glad she's improving. And good for you calling the vet about the price of the supplements, I'm such a wimp when it comes to saying anything. Keep us posted.

  7. The price was gnawing at me because they are just a supplement. I couldn't believe they would be that expensive. Then when I saw the price online I must admit I saw "red rats." I'm not one to complain, but when I do I try to be calm and polite about it. Being aggressive and angry will get you nowhere.
You know that old saying, "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar." It's very true. :> )
