Okay. Deep breath. Think happy thoughts.

Rainbows... glitter... unicorns...

As I was trying to secure my Polka Dot Folk Art Hen to her barn wood base, it torqued and the peg ripped through her!
UGH!!

Photobucket

Cupcakes... puppies... lollipops...

A week's worth of work right down the crapper!!
ACK!!

Kittens... Sparkles... Pixies...

Forget it! The happy thoughts are not working!

I'm reaching for the chocolate chip cookies and half gallon of Häagen-Dazs.

  4. WE HAVE A CHICKEN DOWN FOLKS!!! Oh my, after all that work you put into her too. SHe was a beauty, may she RIP. Now, I'm not making light of your loss but I check on my favorite blogs via google reader. After I read this post from you my next one was here:
http://ravenwoodwhimzies.blogspot.com/2012/09/whatcha-working-on-wednesday.html where, if you scroll down a little she shared a photo of one of her farm fresh eggs. When I saw the size of it I immediately thought of your poor hen and it got me laughing. We do have to find humor where ever and as often as we can right?

  5. ...Oh and what a beauty she is too! So sorry Karin. :o(

...Well, maybe this is the time to adopt that true "make-do" attitude, yes? Like 'Judi' said up there, maybe there's a way to salvage her. I wouldn't give up on her just yet, put your thinkin' cap on and I bet you'll think of somethin'. :o)

    ...Blessings

  6. "WE HAVE A CHICKEN DOWN FOLKS!!" ((giggle)) Even my EMT hubs couldn't help her. I'm still in shock. The poor thing.

I'll tuck my wounded hen up on my hutch cupboard and create another one to replace her.

    Thanks gals!!!

  7. If it was me, I'd make a big gnarly bandage and put on her, along with some crutches and some chicken painkillers. Silly goose, you know she is fixable. All that work wasted??? I know you're too smart for that. I'll bed you said bad words when this happened though, didn't you?
