Well hello there, Handsome...

 photo plate1_zps90f4dbe3.jpg

I've been on a mission to find at least four place settings of vintage Staffordshire Liberty Blue transferware pattern before Thanksgiving.

Lo and behold, I found a gal selling her collection who is only a few hours away from me.

Here's Paul...

So I've actually started a collection! YaY!
(Didn't I have a post a few weeks ago claiming I don't collect anything?!) These four place setting are a start!

I figure my vintage Pfaltzgraff Yorktowne place settings will compliment the Liberty Blue. I'm not the formal type. I like to mix and match.
Like my socks. ((giggle))

Sorry I've been scarce. I'm trying to crank out a few more Christmas pieces for Early Work Mercantile on Thursday night.

Be there. Or be square!

  3. They are both pretty. I recently started collecting the folk art pfaltzgraff design and my daughter wants to start her own collection of the Yorktown design.

  5. I can remember when Liberty Blue was sold in the grocery stores. My Mom and I bought only a few pieces. I wish I had bought the entire collection like my uncle did. He still has it and oh how I wish he would give it to me!
At the time I had no extra money to buy dishes, so over the years I have picked up a piece here and there. Now you have made me want to find the entire collection and I already have a cupboard full of blue things! I like mixing and matching too!

  6. Thanks, gals! My Godmother collected antique blue and white transferware. As a youngun, I always thought it was so pretty. She had it hanging on her walls. So now I favor the blue and white transferware.
Man, I do not remember ever seeing the Liberty Blue dishes back in the 70's. My mama collected Pfaltzgraff Heritage pattern which I now have. ♥
I also love the Folk Art pattern. I was going to collect that. But when I decided to lighten up my kitchen, I decided to lighten up my dishes, hence the Yorktowne pattern instead. But I do have a Folk Art butter dish around here somewhere. ((hee-hee))
Man, this is so much fun!

  7. The only two things I actually collect are fountain pens and Country Keepsakes art pieces! I like blue and white Currier & Ives and I have some but I don't actively seek it out. I think that means I don't really collect it. So I am excited to see the Thursday night offerings!!
I really think your new dishes are pretty and I am very glad that you found them so quickly and easily. The table will be lovely at Thanksgiving!!

  8. I am honored, Peri! ♥
I'm looking forward to my Thanksgiving tablescape. I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a tablecloth to fit my unusually large table. I may have to make do. But I did order some new navy blue cloth napkins. ♥
