C'mon Stella! Get the heck out of the way! I'm trying to take a photo!
Okay. Let's try this again.
Got the braided rug for the bathroom...
I found it on Overstock . com and was so happy with the colors! Sometimes what you see on your computer screen is nothing like what you get.
It's also an indoor/outdoor rug which is perfect for the bathroom.
After much fuss, I went with a plain shower curtain. I felt a fancy shower curtain would be too busy against the beadboard.
Since the window is across from the tub, I didn't want to scare anyone, including the birds in the tree and myself (in the reflection) for that matter, so I decided against a clear shower curtain and purchased a frosted one.
Call me modest or smart. (I'd go with the latter)
Happy Saturday, all!
:> )
Love the braided rug Karin, the whole redo is beautiful, Blessings Francine.

Is the beadboard around the tub, wood? I've been wanting to do that around my tub but didn't know about water hitting it. It looks so nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies!!! That rug even has the blue in it which ties in my vintage blue canning jars. :> )
ReplyDeleteNo, Stella hasn't "christened" it yet. But she's been eyeballing it.
Mindy, I've wanted a beadboard tub/shower surround but didn't think it was possible UNTIL I found vinyl planks!! They sell them at the Home Depot. They come in 4' or 8' planks. We bought the 8' planks for the shower area and my hubs cut them down a bit and we used the 4' planks for the rest of the bathroom. I couldn't be happier!

You have a great sense of humor! Love the braided rug! I think it looks perfect there in the bathroom. Stella didn't want to miss out on all the excitement of the new rug. ;-) She's a cutie!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Andrea
Peanut so lovely looks like a magazine photo. Hugs to Stella!
ReplyDelete♥!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Andrea!
Will do, Jinxie!
Thank you so much for sharing! I just love how it looks!
ReplyDeleteHow has the beadboard held up in the shower? Is it a nightmare to keep clean? I love the look and want to do that in my shower, but all those grooves make me nervous!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I've had no problems at all with keeping it clean. (I use Soft Scrub and a sponge)
ReplyDeleteWe do try to get in the habit of wiping it down after each shower use. But I'll be the first to admit, I forget to do that most of the time. Oopsie!
To this day, I love it as much as the first day we installed it. :> )
Awesome, thank you! I think I know what our next project is going to be! :)
ReplyDeleteHow did you hang the bead board? I am doing my walk-in shower walls in this and trying to figure best way to install
ReplyDeleteHi there~ We used recommended adhesive to attach the beadboard to the walls. Then we caulked with waterproof silicone. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I am wanting to do the shower walls in the vinyl plank. A couple questions, did you seal each piece with waterproof silicone (on the seams to connect) and what did you use to glue the boards onto the green board or concrete board? Please help!! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHi Dedre, I'm pretty sure we used Loctite PowerGrab waterproof adhesive brand to the back of the each beadboard to adhere to the walls. Yes, to be sure the boards are completely waterproof, I ran a bead of white waterproof silicone where each planks met and smoothed it with my finger.
ReplyDeleteI hope that made sense. :> )
It'll look great when you're done.
