these old shutters.
Okay. Maybe not that many coats. But it sure felt like it.
I have been hanging on to these old, antique shutters for years and years. I have a total of only three pairs. Two of the pairs hang in my keeping room windows. All painted black. None of them are the correct size for my windows but I don't give a rat's patootie. I love them.
So I decided to hang the last pair in our newly updated bathroom.
Sure I purposely bought pretty buffalo check fabric to make a curtain for the bathroom. But I didn't realize how dark it would still be in there. It's like a lovely bear cave with beadboard and a pedestal sink.
I then foolishly lovingly thought my sweet hubs wouldn't mind taking the time to gently pull one side of the curtain back, and neatly wrap the cute little button tie back I made and button it in place.
Well, the first few times he "gently pulled one side of the curtain back, and neatly wrapped the cute little button tie back I made and buttoned it in place."
The next few times it was haphazardly pulled back and the cute little button tie back was wrapped around the curtain like a bungee cord.
I knew it was time for a change when I saw the curtain off the window, across the chair and the tie back was laying on the floor.
I must say at the expense of my sweet hubs I had a good belly laugh when I saw that. ((giggle))
That was my ah-ha moment! The last pair of antique shutters will go on the bathroom window!!
How difficult can that be for him?!
Ummm... Only time will tell.
((hee-hee))
Happy Friday, everyone!!

I noticed how easy it was to put on the lbs. Unfortunately for me, a little too easy. Sigh.
Summer is on its way and I'm worried when I try to squeeze into and button my shorts, it will pop off and ricochet around the room like in those cartoons. (Ooooh, maybe I need to rub some butter around my waistline. Useful and tasty!)
So it's time for me to get a grip and realize I can't eat like I used to. I also need to get outside and exercise. Sadly rolling paint on interior walls isn't considered part of the P90X workout. D*mn.
Happy Wednesday, all!

22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

in the upstairs of our old barn.
I never thought to place furniture on and angle in a small room without a lot of wall space.
But I did and it worked! Hey, you live and learn.
I put the "new" (old) settee I recently picked up, on an angle and I'm diggin' it!
As you can see, I was being watched by the "peanut gallery."
I'd like to put a small table in front of that settee instead of the ottoman. But the girls use it as a springboard and thoroughly enjoy it.
I also painted the ceiling. What pain in the *ss painting in between the beams.
Next, I've been wanting to paint the T.V. stand to coordinate with the new room color. So I did just that.
One of my pet peeves is exposed dvds. Makes me crazy! Reminds me of a dorm room.
I own no dvds. These are all my sweet hubs. They are just a tiny handful of his collection.
Since I have the attention span of a gnat, I find it difficult to sit through an entire movie. Which is probably why I haven't stepped into a movie theater since the 1980's. I believe the movie was "Raising Arizona."
Finally comes the "treasure hunting." I must give my sweet hubs credit for this one. I've never been in the upper part of our barn.
Me + no stairs + only a ladder access = Emergency Room visit.
So he tells me he found something up there he thinks I'm going to like.
It's a cool, old, beat up, long wooden box! My favorite!!
Sure it has a little bird poo and mouse poo in it, but that never hurt anybody!
Ummm... Actually, it has. I take that back.
I'll clean it up and leave it out in the sun. They say the sun is the best disinfectant. So if I don't die from Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, we'll know that's a true statement.
Happy Thursday!!
