I had to fill in the old holes and drill new ones for the bin pulls. Man, what a pain in the can that was. I'm not one for measuring. I'm surprised no one heard me cursing as I threw the tape measure across the kitchen.
Remember what she looked like??
Yikes!!
Man, I didn't realize how dated and tired she looked. The poor thing.
She's a lot happier with her new paint job and hardware.
Now that I'm done with this project, Stella will be happier too.
I've been ignoring her and she's been giving me the wicked "stink eye" all day.
Enjoy your weekend!!

ReplyDeleteWowzers! It is beautiful!!! The hardware looks fantastic on it! I also love the corner where you have that awesome old radio and all the other cool stuff! Dern girl, you can decorate! Why can't I be one of those ol' dolls you have in the crock! :-D
ReplyDeleteWow!!!!!! Absolutely 100 better, love the look and all the treasures inside. She is a doll!!!!!!! Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I have a hutch.... ;-). I put the LAST COAT of paint on my cabinets yesterday. Hallelujah!
ReplyDeleteWow! And again, WOW! You'd never know it was the same cabinet, would you. By golly Karin, your one of the handiest women I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteAli
P.S. Happy New Year !!
Thanks so much, ladies! Your kind words are very much appreciated! ♥ It really is amazing how paint can change the look of something. What I love best about the subtle color is that it reminds me in a way of a built in. I really was worried about painting it. But I'm so happy I did! Absolutely no regrets!!
ReplyDeleteDixie, I've been wondering how the kitchen cabinets project was coming along. I can't wait to see them!
Denise, that cathedral radio is a cool reproduction. But I do have a genuine tombstone radio. But I don't have the tubes, so it doesn't work. Phooey! But it does display nicely. ;> ) Man, I wish that antique pickle crock could talk. I have one crazy but amazing story about that thing.
Right now I'm taking a break. I'm trying to keep my kitchen spotless (yeah, that won't last long) and truly enjoy the fruits of my labor.
Thank again, everyone!
BEAUTIFUL! What a transformation! Loving it!
ReplyDeleteAudrey
Karin, I showed my hubby your beautiful hutch and he really liked it. What color is it? We're thinking of doing our pantry that color. It already has the black hardware going on...I think it will look so nice. Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Audrey!!! Have you been searching Craigslist lately?! I've been on my best behavior. But I'm starting to get the "itch." ;> )
ReplyDeleteDenise, the color is called "Sandstone Cliff" by Behr. A very nice neutral. Looks fantastic with black hardware!
Thanks again! :-) I've been looking at a few blogs today, and one of them is Farmhouse 5540. Have you seen that blog? She has an all white neutral farmhouse. I am so very tempted to do that in my kitchen. Seeing yours more white and a few others really makes me want to get started on mine. I looked at your kitchen pictures, the one with the red cabinets and the rustoleum one, even though they were so very pretty, I really love the white best. It just seems so calming. Lord knows I need calm in my 50's! :o)
ReplyDeleteI say go for it! Yes, she has a BEAUTIFUL farmhouse! Man, I love her blog! Unfortunately, I know myself all too well. Trying to keep everything white with two dogs, a husband and quite frankly myself would be difficult for me. But I absolutely LOVE the look!
ReplyDeleteOut of all my kitchen colors, the one I have now is my favorite! The whites and neutrals with the beadboard have a classic and timeless look. All our red doors are just a bit of my personality showing. ;> )
Actually I've lightened most of the walls (except my American flag walls I painted) and trim throughout this whole farmhouse and wished I did it sooner. It reflects the natural light which brightens the rooms and just makes you feel good inside. I smile every time I walk into my kitchen. ♥
Looks amazing, like a whole new piece! Love it. Girl i love looking at all your projects and cant wait to see your new sign.
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge transformation, just beautiful. Now take a lil time for you and Stella. Happy New Year . hugs Angela
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! Man, we went from 70 degrees on Christmas Eve to 2 degrees today. It's nuts! So the girls and I have planted ourselves in front of the wood stove.
ReplyDeleteJinxie, it's too dang cold to go down to the barn to find a piece of wood for my Bakery sign. So it'll have to wait. But I can't wait to get started so I'm champing at the bit! I'll be sure to post a pic!
Hi Angela, glad to see your blogging again. Happy New Year. :> )
