Here's a sneak peek at my unique April 1st offerin' on The Humble Arts.

Be sure to check out all the talented artists on our small and humble site.

If y'all ever have the opportunity to visit New York City, you MUST see The Statue Of Liberty. She may be tired and worn; but she is truly amazin' and quite humblin'.

New York Giants Or New England Patriots?

The New York Giants, of course!

But for the record, I must say I don't know a dang gum thing about football. I don't understand the game no matter how many times hubs has tried to explain it to me.

Terms like down, blitz, hail mary, tight end and yardage are all too confusin'. To me "Hail Mary" is a prayer, "yardage" is at the fabric store and a "tight end" is, well... ;> )

But every year, we plant ourselves in front of the T.V. (like millions around the world) and watch the Super Bowl. As long as I know what color "my" team is wearin', I'm fine.

For all you football fans, enjoy your day!! For all you non football fans especially "football widows"... Now's the time to hop online and do some shoppin'. Sweet Revenge!

HOLY SMOKES!! I may not know a thing about football, but that was an AWESOME game!! I was even screamin' at the T.V.! Woo-Hoo!!! Congratulations New York Giants!! YaY!

I'm No Longer Over The Rainbow...

Photobucket

Whew!! I traveled that yellow brick road from Deansboro to Oz and man are my "dogs" tired. I've got two corns and a blister now.

Heck, I don't know how Dorothy did it hoppin' around in those ruby red scoots of hers. I would have weathered better in a pair of earth shoes. All I need is some red sequins and a glue stick and I'd be skippin' around too.

Well folks, my one of a kind Wizard Of Oz Firewood Folks Series is complete. I truly had a blast makin' them. They will be listed individually on eBay this Sunday night(February 3rd).

I will be workin' on more Firewood Folks; but for now I think I'm goin' to get me a pedicure and take a load off.

Happy biddin' and God bless...
:> )

Oh and don't forget to feast your peepers on Zella-Lee and Hedy the Hare. They are my February offerin' on The Humble Arts.

"But Oz Never Did Give Nothin' To The Tin Man..."

"That he didn't, didn't already have. And Cause never was the reason for the evenin', or the tropic of Sir Galahad."

What in the heck was that Dewey Bunnell feller from the band America smokin' when he wrote those lyrics? It makes no sense but was a real toe tapper, wasn't it?

I remember my mama lovin' that song, so I saved my money and bought her the 45 (for 79¢) and gave it to her for her birthday. That along with some groovy wooden napkins rings. Gotta love the 70's.

Here's my Tin Man.

I'm workin' on the scarecrow next...

Many of y'all know I still get the willies when I see those flyin' monkeys! YIKES!
*shudder* But I know they are important characters to the story.

So I was finally was able to bring myself to sculpt one of these lil' creatures. He will be offered with the Wicked Witch.

Mine isn't as scary lookin' but I reckon it will take years of therapy to overcome this one. I really do need my head examined anyway. :> )

A Sneak Peek At My #2 Firewood Folk for 2008...

She's as bald as a cue ball but I promise she won't be lookin' like Uncle Fester's twin when I get finished with her.

The poor thing is waitin' for my shipment of mohair to get delivered. So until then I'll keep a hat on her.

I can't show ya the rest of her because her clothin' would give her away.

But I'll give ya a lil' hint... She's a Jayhawks fan.

I'll keep ya posted.

Ta-dah...

He's not neked anymore.

Jeb the Scarecrow will be listed on eBay tonight.

My Next Halloween Firewood Folk...

He's as neked as a Jaybird at the moment because I'm in the process of stitchin' up some clothes for him. In the mean time, I'd better throw a towel or a fig leaf on him.

A good thing he has no eyes yet 'cause he's rather modest and would be shocked if he knew how many folks were lookin' at him right now.

I'm also workin' on my dollie for Ava Grace's auction and stitchin' up some new dollies for the ol' website.

I'll keep y'all posted.

Autumn Is Fast Approachin'...

Ahhhh... My favorite time of year. I feel the crisp air, I smell the logs burnin' in the woodstove, I hear the crunch of the maple leaves under my feet, I taste a delicious Cortland apple just picked off the tree and I see the squirrels and chipmunks scurry about hidin' their acorns for the long winter ahead. Autumn touches all the senses.

I could walk these country roads for miles just takin' in the beauty of the changin' leaves around me. The good Lord above sure does have the best color palette, doesn't He?

To celebrate this wonderful season, I will be offerin' my one of a kind paperclay creation on The Humble Arts.

Does Anyone Have A Sweet Tooth...

Here's another clay head I'm workin' on. This here one is a candy corn-head and she is quite jolly lookin'. The poor thing could really use a dental plan though.

Make sure y'all mark August 1st on your calendar folks. We at The Humble Arts are havin' our first themed eBay group launch. The theme is "Underneath The Falloween Moon". It is also the theme for our website "The Humble Arts" come the 1st of August.

Oooooh, I can't wait to see the wonderful offerins' from this talented group of artists. Just remember to type HARTS07 in your eBay search.

Looks like its time to raid my hubs trouser pockets and get my biddin' finger ready...

Nitey-Nite, Sleep Tight (If You Can)...

Here is my first Halloween Firewood Folks for 2007.

Do you recognize him?

If you're thinkin' he's that Freddy from Chico And The Man or the lead singer from Queen, guess again.

Why its Freddy Krueger from Nightmare On Elm Street, of course.

I'll be listin' Freddy on eBay in the future. So keep your peepers peeled for him and more from my Halloween Firewood Folks collection.

They're Baaaaaaack...

Well folks since I've had some requests, I decided to start a 2007 series of my Halloween Firewood Folks.
I've got all kinds of fun ideas swirlin' around this noggin of mine.

I've got the ol' ball and chain outside cuttin' up logs with his chainsaw and I'll be out there wieldin' my axe. Boy, that sounds like a horror movie doesn't it? Well I guess it could be if I go out there without a stitch of makeup on.

As always, my one of a kind Firewood Folks are signed, dated and numbered. You can scoot on over to my website and join my email list if ya would like to be notified of my new pieces. While you're there, click on the "My Gallery" button to see my previous Firewood Folks.

Oh and don't forget the first week of August The Humble Arts family will have our first eBay launch. Its titled "Underneath the Falloween Moon". In the eBay Search type HARTS07. Ooooh, I can't wait to see what this talented group of artists will have to offer.

Here's A Sneak Peek...

At my July 1st offerin' on The Humble Arts.

Quintilla the Witch is my first attempt at clay over cloth. As y'all can see, she got her way about wantin' to be green. I thought I could take her, but she was too quick. She may be small, but she's scrappy. Thank goodness she didn't ask for a flyin' monkey.

So please remember to scoot on over to The Humble Arts site and feast your peepers on all the wonderful offerins' from a small unique group of talented artists.

Type HARTS07 into your eBay search and check out The Humble Arts offerins' too.

Are You A Good Witch Or A Bad Witch...

Here's my latest Paperclay witch I'm workin' on for July 1st on The Humble Arts. She keeps tellin' me she must be green like that Margaret Hamilton gal and is fightin' me (her one) tooth and nail until I do. Now I'm goin' to make a comment which might make some of ya gasp in disbelief.

Here goes.... I am not a big fan of the Wizard of Oz. There, I said it. Before you start sendin' me poison pen emails, let me explain my reason.

Its those daggum flyin' monkeys. *shudder* Folks, to this day they STILL give me the willies. I swear those lil' creatures were real. They probably still are and with my luck are livin' in my town.

Chittenango, Frank Baum's hometown is just a hoot-n-a-holler away from me. I'll bet ya dollars to donuts that guy was eatin' "funny" mushrooms when he wrote that story. And I don't mean the kind that tell a joke and make ya laugh.

Am I the only one freaked out by the Wizard of Oz?
