Things That Make Me...

Big, fluffy clouds.

Our wonderful aroma filled Jasmine bush.
(Don't you wish they made a scratch and sniff computer monitor?)

Our wild blackberry bushes. That lone ripe one was MIA after I snapped this pic.

(It was delicious!)

Our gigantic but lopsided sugar maple tree.
I have less leaves to rake come the fall. YaY!

The baby bunnies who keep nibblin' on the corn I planted in my garden.
Heck, I can't get mad at them. Have you ever seen how precious they are?

My smilin' pig whirligig.

And this!

My shiny, brand spankin' new moutain bike! I decided to upgrade and got it over the weekend.

Oh and don't worry... My new handlebars are on order from the bike shop.
I'll be ridin' again like Mary Poppins in two shakes of a lamb's tail!

The Humble Arts makes me smile too!!!
Be sure to check out our new offerins' tonight!

Farewell To An Angel...

As a young teen I was a huge fan of (the original) Charlie's Angels and especially of Farrah Fawcett.

She showed us we could be smart, tough, feminine, strong, handle a gun and all while bein' absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you Ms. Fawcett.
Rest in peace.

MORE SAD NEWS...

We lost another great legend today.

Rest in peace Michael.

Hopefully the media will be respectful and let both these families mourn in peace.
But I doubt they will.

Remembering Daddy...

Many of you know I lost my daddy to lung cancer back in 1994.

I recently came across cancer awareness bracelets. I knew nothing about these bracelets but was so touched behind their meaning. Different colors symbolize different cancers.

Well, I had to have one to honor him and I knew just the person to make it for me.

Laura of Our Lady of Grace not only works with my hubs; she is a talented jewelry artist and a real sweetheart!

Today he came home from work and handed me a precious fabric bag. Inside was my beautiful sterling silver bracelet!

It's perfect and exactly what I wanted!!

If you want to honor a loved one you've lost to cancer or is a cancer survivor; these bracelets are a wonderful way to express your love for them.
I know first hand Laura will do a beautiful job too!

Thanks again Laura!! You're the best!

Undercover (PI Garden) Angel...

There is a psychotic garden gnome runnin' around rampant. He's over-waterin' all the flowers around the Countryfolk Keepsakes homestead!
This poor pansy is on its last leg.
(Make that, last root)

So I called in the Undercover PI Garden Angel.

Her true identity can't be revealed at the moment because she is workin' on this top secret case.
So for now she must be in disguise.

Hopefully she can catch him before he works his way over to the impatiens.

I was able to talk her out of wearin' a Hawaiian shirt but she insists on drivin' around in a red Ferrari.

I'll keep you posted.

At the moment they have turned their backs to the camera because they are a lil' shy due to their nekedness; but I promise they will be ready come July 1st.

So keep your patriotic peepers peeled.

Good Evening...

I've always been an Alfred Hitchcock fan.

As I finished my latest dollie I couldn't help but be reminded of him.
One of my all time favorite movies was "The Birds."

That scared the bejeepers out of me! To this day, I still find myself squintin' my eyes when they show that feller with his peepers pecked out. Yikes!
(Man, that had to hurt)
Poor Suzanne Pleshette (the school teacher) didn't have a chance either. Especially with ketchup all over her face like that.

Who could use a telephone booth after seein' that movie? I couldn't.
Heck, a swing set and jungle gym were completely out of the question too.
I'm uncoordinated enough as it is; the last thing I needed was a crazed chickadee peckin' at me as I dangled from the monkey bars.

Milba and Culley are bein' offered on my Countryfolk Keepsakes website.

I Am Loved...

I am hated, I am spit on, I am burned.
Regardless, I am proud of my country and her people.
They say that love is the greatest gift but the true greatest gift is FREEDOM.
May my country and her people always have this great gift.
I ask the blessing of God to be with my people now and forever.

Just When I Thought I've Seen Everythin'...

I wanted to make garlic dip for a gatherin' with friends later today when I realized I forgot to pick up some sour cream at the grocery store.
So I hopped in the car and drove to the local gas station/convenience store in the wee, podunk next town over.

As I walked up to the cashier, I literally did a double take. Settin' right there on the counter next to the Dentyne gum display were ExtenZe herbal male enhancement pills! If ya don't know what they are, Google it. But the title should give you a clue.

"You've got to be kiddin' me??!!" I blurted out while laughin' and shakin' my head in total disbelief.
I guess those are for that male impulse buyer who wants to feel a lil' spring in his step after gassin' up his Ford F150.

Why are so many men obsessed with this topic? You know it had to be a man who invented this stuff because a woman would have come up with somethin' much, much better...
Like "Honey-Do" pills.

Not only would men take out the garbage, kill all the big spiders in the kitchen, mow the lawn, open our car door, unclog the bathtub drain, put their dirty clothes in the hamper and trim the hedges... They would get a lot "luckier" too.

I Went For A Bike Ride Today...

I couldn't help but feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz when I came upon all these buttercups!

Yeah-yeah I know in the movie they were poppies; but I still felt the urge to drop and start catchin' some Z's.

It must have been psychological.
(Or I was exhausted from all that pedalin')

Zzzzzzzzzzz...

I need to get me a pair sparkly red sneaks to go with my blue and white gingham sweat pants.

On the way back home I met this lil' sweetheart...
I called her "Buttercup."

She replied, "It's Phyllis."

In Memory Of...

"You will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped, and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely....The free men of the world are marching together to victory. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory. Good luck, and let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."

General Dwight D. Eisenhower giving the D-Day order on June 6, 1944.

The greatest generation indeed.

I bet you thought I'd be swiggin' a six pack of Old Mil in this post...
Nope.

Have a great weekend folks!
