I have a cute corner cupboard hutch that was here when we moved in. Since I have a soft spot for history, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. It belonged in this old farmhouse. So when I was on my "paint furniture a matte black and sand it" kick, that's exactly what I did.
It was originally in the kitchen. But we needed that corner for our wood stove.
For the most part, I had it in the keeping room. But then I thought it would look cute tucked in the corner of our living room.
Stella and Stanley do enjoy the ol' La-Z-Boy when Daddy's at work.
Just when I thought I had decluttered my home, ummmm... I look at this photo and realize I need to work on my decluttering skills. ((giggle))
Then I was able to set up a
These are my two favorite photos of my Daddy when he was a little boy.
The large one was when he was a ring bearer in a wedding.
Just wanted to share.

Nice to know that other people have soft spots for old things like history...of cupboard hutches for example! As for the de-cluttering: if you ever come to my place you will realize that except for a particular place I stayed in rural Central NY, mine is the most cluttered place that is not qualified as being hoarded and so your little clutter does not really seem large or out of whack at all! Yours has a theme...it seems to be history..personal and national. So, well done! Cozy is different than cluttered!!
ReplyDeleteMorning, funny, I do the drag thing too, :)....love History and glad you kept the sweet cupboard, looks fantastic......I adore your decorating, so Country cozy, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteStella is such a sweetie!Love the old cupboard, think it looks great.I always enjoy your pics.Hugs,Jen
ReplyDeleteI love the frames your photos are in. I'm another who loves old. Sometimes I think I prefer vintage to new, especially when it comes to quality.

I don't do the drag thing, but my Mom used to say that if there was a flat surface, I would put something on it. Clutterer, hoarder, mess maker, whatever you want to call it, my sister and I both received the same characteristic. Love the little display with the hat, glasses and the Good Book. Happy...Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! I sure do appreciate your kind words. ♥
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not I really have decluttered.
I definitely got the clutter gene from my mama. (hee-hee))
Peri, I can't help but giggle at your comment about your stay. :> )
Peachy, I adore that hat.
Ali, I'm with you. I would rather buy old furniture than the new stuff.
I think a piece of "clutter" is coming my way. A perfect way to display your artwork! I cant wait to get my lil one and set her up on a shelf!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful displays!
ReplyDeleteLove all the history cluttering your home. Your pics are always so wonderful to look at. Love the phone in one of the pics.
