It's The Most Wonderful Time Of Year...

The other day there was a box sittin' in my mailbox addressed to me! Oooooh! Ya know how crazy I get when there's mail for me (other than bills), so I bee-lined it back inside!

It was from that crazy and wonderful Gina of Cat Nap Inn Primitives!!!

Her sweet note said "Since your dog destroyed yours, I thought I would send you these. They are right up your alley."

When I looked at the gloves I almost busted a gut!!! They are called "LittleMissMatched". Not only do the gloves not match, ya get a third one! Heck, if those don't have my name written all over 'em, I don't know what does!

She also gave me that gorgeous pillow she made on her embroidery machine!! It's perfect, thank you Gina!!!!

Uh-oh... Hannah's eyes lit up like Christmas tree when she saw those gloves! I'll have to keep them under lock and key.

Then hubs came home yesterday and handed me a gift tellin' me it was from Laura. Another gift for me?! Am I dreamin'??!! Quick, somebody pinch me!

Laura is a sweet and very talented gal who my hubs works with. Lord only knows how she puts up with that motley crew over there! She also sells her beautiful handmade jewelry and rosary beads on her Our Lady Of Grace blog.

She made those wonderful Christmas ornies!! Look! Even Darla, Hannah and Gracie each have their own mitten with a snowflake! They were all tucked in that sweet lil' basket! Heck, I already got them hangin' on our tree. Thank you Laura!!

A Charlie Brown Christmas...

I was so happy to watch it last night on television!

Its my all time favorite because it tells the true meanin' of Christmas, the birth of Christ. It also shows the commercialism of Christmas and that "I want" mentality.

Man, can I totally relate to Chuck!
When they are lookin' for a Christmas tree and he says to Linus, "This little green one here seems to need a home. We'll decorate it and it'll be just right for our play. Besides, I think it needs me."
Heck, I may as well shave my head and wear a yellow shirt with a black zig zag because that is me!

So in honor of my favorite Christmas show, I made a lil' somethin' special today...

Finished Up Another Christmas Gift...

I couldn't resist givin' her a lil' tuft of hair.

I Have My Own Cookie Monster...

But he isn't furry, blue or has ping-pong ball eyes.

Nope. Mine resembles Charlie Brown with a goatee.

Every year at this time I go through the same thing with my hubs. I bake all these delicious cookies to give as Christmas gifts and the minute I have my back turned, he's eatin' them. Oh and its not just one or two; its more like seven or eight at a time!

Even when I explain to him the cookies are gifts for our family and friends, he continues to cram them in his mouth.

As I'm typin' this, I hear him in the kitchen singin' "I need me some cookies!"

I wonder if I can swap him for Elmo?

Ooooh! I LOVE Goin' Here At Christmas Time...

Hubs and I headed to the city of Utica to visit the Victorian Yuletide exhibition at Fountain Elms.

Mama used to take us here when we were young'uns. Its like bein' a kid again when I walk through the doors.

Worn and Calloused but Still Strong...

Forty plus years of hard work and weatherin' the elements, have taken its toll on my hands.

Not only do they create with passion, they have applauded with happiness, have wiped away tears, they've lovin'ly caressed and been lent to those in need.

They've prayed for a miracle, been lifted in joy, held over my heart with pride, have gently guided strangers and occasionally shook in anger.

Yep, they are worn and calloused but still strong.

I've got one hand in my pocket... and the other one is wavin' an American flag.

I've got to tell ya, I'm really impressed with this mag trainer thing. It was definitely worth the investment.

I'm sweatin' up a storm makin' it hotter than a goat's butt in a pepper patch in here but its worth it! That means its workin'!!
