Remember this?
As I was digging around for stuff for our barn sale, I pulled out my old GE Power Sound Loudmouth 8 Track Tape Player. I wasn't surprised when I popped in a tape and the dang thing worked! That was back when they made things to last. Not like our throw away (made in China) society now.
Man, I sound like an old timer, don't I?
"Yeah and I had to walk to school.. For 20 miles.. In the snow.. Barefoot..."
**giggle**
It seems just like yesterday I was a kid flipping through the Sunday Family Weekly and there it was!! The Columbia House Club!! All those records and tapes for only a penny!! I'm pretty sure I heard angels sing.
But mama always said I couldn't join because I'd get stuck having to buy a lot of tapes for the regular price afterwards. She had to be wrong. They wouldn't do such a thing.
So I secretly marked the ones I wanted and filled out my name/address, scotch taped a shiny, copper Abe Lincoln to the form and joined.
Guess what? Mama was right. Needless to say, I did a lot of chores that summer.
But I was able to do them while boogying to KC and the Sunshine Band.
Oh, that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh.
Happy Monday!
