Childhood memories...

You all know I'm a Craigslist junkie. I search daily for stuff I don't need. I compare it to going to estate sales or barn sales minus the wasted gas from driving all over.

Well, when I was looking around on the site I came across a huge blast from the past!

You ready to see it??

Ta-dah!!

Holy patchwork, Batman!

Please don't adjust the color on your monitor, you are seeing it correctly.

Yikes!

This was the furniture pattern my parents bought back in the 1970's. I remember them going to Montgomery Wards and picking out the set. Although we did not have this rocker. We had the couch and loveseat.

When I saw the rocker for sale it threw me right back in time. It was wonderful! Heck, I can't believe what great shape it's in!!

I immediately emailed the link to my mother to get her reaction.

When I talked to her, her response was, "What was I thinking when I picked out that pattern with those colors??!!" We both laughed.

I have no idea what she was thinking, but I came really close to buying it for myself! I guess it is true when they say "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

Maybe this is why I've always had a love for patchwork.

((giggle))

Happy Tuesday, everyone.

LOL, in my first home I decorated the kitchen walls with an aqua, white and harvest gold print wallpaper and had harvest gold appliances and thought I was the best decorator in the world! NOT!!!!!

Hee-hee!!! I hear you, Judi!
I always remind myself that at one time I had mauve carpeting installed in my living room.
I also had lots of shiny brass fixtures and a brass coffee table with a smoky glass top. Ahhhh... the 80's.
My how my taste has changed.
Thank the good Lord above. (giggle))

I watched a home improvement show today and a realtor stated when it comes to buying homes, NO ONE wants 1980's decor.
Oh well... I'm still not giving up my mauve Tupperware.

Hadn't really thought of it, but this may be why I am so fond of plaids! My mother had a plaid sofa and chair in our living room for years and years! She also had a wide wale corduroy chair and I love that particular type of corduroy! Interesting....
Thanks for reminding me....

Thanks, Earlene. :> )

Peri I am very fond of plaid too. It's so warm and inviting. I bet that corduroy chair was comfortable!
