An update.

My mother wanted to try chemo therapy. We are abiding by her wishes. She had her first treatment the other day.

We're hoping her body is strong enough to tolerate it and possibly slow the pancreatic cancer (metastasized to both lungs) giving her more time. We will fight with her until she is tired of fighting.

So many don't realize what we put into our bodies over a lifetime will eventually catch up to us. By the time we do, it's usually too late.
Alcohol abuse, cigarette abuse, prescription/non prescription drug abuse and a highly acidic diet will contribute to cancer.
An evil... lying in wait with a napkin tucked under its chin ready to consume anything and everything around it if given the opportunity.

I lost my dad 20 years ago to lung cancer that metastasized to his brain. It was absolutely horrible.
He smoked cigarettes for too many years as many of us foolishly have. He supported his family by working for companies that used asbestos. Without of course the knowledge of asbestos damage we know today.

Dealing with my mother's cancer has made my sweet hubs and I realize the importance of good health. Even though we have no control over our genetics, we can at least try to slow down the possibility of cancer by taking much better care of ourselves.

Thank you for your continued prayers...

Tough as it is, it is better to know than to worry over what it could be. Sometimes chemo really is the answer...even late stage can be dealt with that way.
We always have better hindsight than foresight..it is the way we are "wired" I think.
Cancer is not at all pleasant to deal with. But keeping a positive attitude about living every single moment we have on this planet can make a big difference even if one is struggling with cancer. Chin up Girlfriend! Help your Mom best by being you and not the daughter of a cancer victim!! Call me if you want to chat. Love you a lot.
